Not everyone wants a traditional funeral. An increasing number of families and individuals are concerned about the environment and wish to have an ecologically friendly service…and it may surprise you to find out that it can be less expensive to have a woodland burial than many people think. There are a couple of excellent green burial sites in our area and we can give you advice about these as well as offering a range of beautiful eco-coffins. Green funerals are often very lovely events conducted in natural and beautiful surroundings.

All of our eco-coffins are made with sustainable natural materials or recycled cardboard. Natural coffins are very beautiful and have a completely different effect on many people than traditional coffins. With their gentler and softer aesthetic some people report a greater sense of peace in saying goodbye to their loved one.
Each coffin is fully lined with natural fibres and comes complete with a soft shroud and all fittings.
The least expensive of the natural fibres, Bamboo coffins offer a simple, light design in both traditional and rounded styles.
Available in both Coffin and Casket styles, Banana fibre is a slightly heavier material than Bamboo offering a stronger weave and greater tonal variation. There are also various colour options for the Caskets.
Offered in Manila, White and Woodgrain our cardboard coffins present a simple elegance with the least impact on the environment. Cardboard coffins are very suitable for burial but are also an excellent choice for cremation as they create far less CO2 than any other coffin material.

All natural coffins are relatively light but Willow is a little heavier and structurally stronger than Bamboo and Banana coffins. Our English Willow coffins are available in white, green and brown trim with colour options available.
Willow coffins, whilst offering less tonal variation than English Willow, does present a very polished and elegant finish. Our Willow line also offers the unique “Pod” design which we feel is even more impressive in real life than it appears in the pictures.
The Willow Eco 2 coffins, in our opinion, offer the sharpest lines with their very tightly woven design style. The effect is an uncomplicated and simple beauty that is gentle on the eye
Offering a natural beauty in a range of material with a soft and gentle lining for the most difficult of goodbyes.
The Pandanus coffins present a two tonal, twisted weave that leans towards a sense of hemp or rope. For some this creates a slightly more nautical feel to the coffins. Up close these are very beautiful.
The Paulownia is a reasonably priced real wood coffin that is simple and minimalist in design.
