During the Coronavirus lockdown there is a limit on the number of people who can attend a funeral. For some families a Direct Cremation might be the best solution. With a saving of over £1,500 a Direct Cremation differs from a Traditional Cremation in that there is no service beforehand and there are no mourners in attendance. This gives you the chance to arrange a dignified funeral for your loved one now with the opportunity, and the budget, to arrange a memorial service or gathering at a later date when it is safe to do so.

What the package includes

• Bringing the deceased into our care from any location within 20 miles including home, care home or hospice at no extra cost
• Provision of a full hearse (not a private ambulance) for transport to the crematorium
• Cremation location is Southend Crematorium (your loved one will not be kept or cremated miles away)
• Removal of pacemaker or prosthetics is included if required
• Return of ashes to the family, usually within two weeks, at no extra cost

What isn’t included

• Third party fees (disbursements) which include the Crematorium fee (£500), an oak veneer coffin (£250) and the doctor’s fee (£82 if this is required). A typical final price for a Direct Cremation including disbursements is £1,540

Our Traditional Cremation Package provides an elegant and dignified farewell to your loved one. Naturally our small staff team will guide and support you from start to finish, making all arrangements and ensuring your farewell goes exactly to plan.

What the package includes

• Bringing your loved one into our care within 15 miles of our chapel of rest
• Preparation and dressing of the deceased in the clothes of your choice
• Funeral at the location, date and time of your choosing (subject to availability)
• Visiting in our chapel of rest during work hours
• Our elegant hearse will proceed to the crematorium from a private residence of your choosing
• A Funeral Director with a full team of bearers to conduct the day and assist in every way
• A choice of elegant scatter tubes or a biodegradable urn included at no extra cost

• Crematorium fee (from £1,000)
• Provision of a lined and furnished Coffin of your choice (from £250)
• Provision of elegant Mercedes hearse (£250)
• Minister’s fee (£230)
• Doctor’s fee (£82 if this is required. A doctor’s fee is not required if a post mortem is carried out).

A typical final price for a Traditional Cremation including disbursements is £3,428.
